Happy Thanksgiving I hope you have fun toasting the pilgrim fathers and the Native-Americans who helped them.

My job is going to change again after Christmas to cover long term sick leave by Jo who, if you remember had a thing going with the boss before his girl friend found out and held her up against the wall by the throat.  Well Jo started having fits and has been off school 2 months.  These fits are very unusual - John has never seen or heard of the presentation that she has!  So I am going to teach English after Christmas and have been told the timetable won’t change again.  However,  Jo says she will be back in February and expects to get her job back - unfortunately my job will be gone to the teacher who comes back from maternity leave - so where will that leave me?  The boss says don’t worry - ha.  I am very concerned. 

I posted som pics in the Album.   I dreaded the whole event but in retrospect it was fun. The kids went to the Monster Mash at school and then on Halloween went trick-a-treating around the neighborhood along 5th and down 74th, 75th and 76th.  We later went to Owls Head Park down near 66th

Well we’ re off on our first Fall adventure.  A bit later this year given we gave a birthday party for Annushka and then had to attend another one the very next week.   We are in Danbury, CT.  We went to one farm yesterday but apple picking was over.  It was all a bit commercial anyway,  So we’re trying another one today before heading off to Woodbury to cruise some antique shops.  Tomorrow we just hit the local mall for a ride on their giant carosel before heading home.

The weather is actually still quite warm - hence the apple situation.  It’s a long weekend and we’ve just had Yom Kippur so everyone is out and about.

I know you are all dying to know if we’ve gotten lost yet.   He won’t admit it but I am 100% sure the first time happened with 10 blocks of our apartment. I think the GPS proves what we all know about men. They won’t ask for directions and when they are given them they don’t listen and/or they think they know better.  Maybe it I change the voice to an American male voice instead of an Aussie female it might work better.

Annushka is 7!  Age of reason and all that.   

I lost 10lbs and it’s staying off so now I am targetting the next 10lbs.  Basically it is just yoga and rowing at home and weights at the gym.  I have learnt the weights are 100% nec.  If I miss them as I did in the summer. I got down 10lbs and could not lose more.  I went up and down around the 10lbs mark for weeks and weeks.  So now I am trying to get back to the gym and hopefully that will shock my body into letting go of all the fat! But as soon as I did my weight shot back up but after a couple of weeks it has startedto go back down …  I think the key is to be consistent in the exercise so your body has a routine.

I finally found something that actually makes my eyebrows thicker.  I don’t know if is just the hairs are longer or more are growing but it seems to work.  It certainly works to make eyelashes longer.  They discovered it all as a side effects of treating glaucoma.  The product I use is  MD Lash Factor.

I am job hunting again. The economy is so bad that there is no alternative now.  So fingers crossed for me.

Well Annushka is now in Second Grade (whatever you do, do not say “Grade 2″ no-one understands you. )  She’s happy to be back at school  and is looking forward to her birthday because we are going to have a birthday party.  I decided I needed to cross this off my list of things to do for her after she had such a dull summer.  I am planning it to the nth degree but I am sure I will suffer major anxiety the night before.   

Update:  Party was a success.  Playground politics caused afterwards was completely amazing.  I will fill you all in one day.  Suffice to say, competition was rife.

Her teacher is trying to eradicate her Australian accent correcting her pronunication of words “laugh” and “bathroom”.  Did it so much Annuhska actually complained to me  I told her to tell her teacher “that is how we say it at home” to see if she will stop because I worry if I speak to the teacher I will reveal how incredibily offended I am and say something like when she comes home saying “dawg” and “orff” I will send you the bill for her elocution lessons.
